Encinitas Ranch is a relatively new neighborhood located within the town of Encinitas, California. Interestingly, it is part of the site of the Paul Ecke Ranch, which is the world’s largest Poinsettia grower. It is bordered by La Costa Avenue to its north, Encinitas Boulevard to its south, I-5 to its west, and El Camino Real to its east. It is south of Carlsbad and approximately 25 miles north of downtown San Diego. Quail Hollow, 37 Ranch Road, Mendocino, Quail Ridge, Braemar, The Links, and Devonshire are all communities that are considered part of Encinitas Ranch.
Highlights of the area include:
Encinitas Ranch Golf Course: a championship golf course. Many properties in Encinitas Ranch have golf-course views and since the course is public, many residents enjoy easy access to one of San Diego’s best golfing venues.
Shopping and Dining: there are a plethora of stores in this neighborhood. Encinitas Ranch Town Center (Target, Barnes & Noble, CompUSA, Linen ’n Things, Office Depot, Petsmart, Pier 1 Imports, Ross, Sports Authority, McDonald’s, Chili’s Restaurant), the upscale shopping center The Forum (Apple Store, Victoria Secret, Bed Bath and Beyond, Ann Taylor Loft, Anthropologie, Chico’s, Free People, New Balance, White House/Black Market, Z Gallerie, Sur La Table) and the variety of stores that line Encinitas Blvd and El Camino Real make Encinitas Ranch a convenient place to live.
Quail Botanical Gardens (now known as the San Diego Botanic Garden).: a wonderful place to visit, the gardens boast beautifil vistas, flowering trees, and the country’s largest bamboo collection. There are mediterranean climate landscapes, succulent gardens, herb gardens, a fruit gardens, and native coastal sage natural areas. The Hamilton Children’s Garden, is also a local favorite as it is the largest interactive children’s garden on the West Coast. Visitors can immerse themselves in a desert environment or in a tropical rainforest, all within easy reach of Encinitas Ranch.
Beaches and Lagoons: Moonlight beach, and Swami’s, are beaches that have become local favorites not just for the surf but also because of their proximity to main street Encinitas. There are also two lagoons – Batiquitos lagoon in carlsbad and San Elijo, in Cardiff to the south.
